Kanhangad: Renowned playback singer K.S. Chithra inaugurated the official website of the International Institute for People with Disabilities (IIPD), a major initiative led by the Different Art Centre in Thiruvananthapuram that will commence in Kasaragod. The website was launched during the foundation stone-laying ceremony of the IIPD project at the Palladium auditorium in Kanhangad.K.S.

Chithra launched the website by clicking on the web link in the presence of Shyla Thomas, Director of Timesworld and DAC and Minu K, Director of IIPD. The website, designed by Timesworld Media and Technology Solutions Private Limited, contains all information related to IIPD.

The event was attended by several dignitaries, including Members of Parliament P.V. Abdul Wahab and Rajmohan Unnithan, M. Rajagopalan, MLA, Baby Balakrishnan, District Panchayat President, Sujatha K, Municipal Chairperson, Kanhangad, Inbasekar I.A.S, District Collector, Swami Krishnananda Bharati, Pothamkandam Ashram, D. Shilpa IPS, SP, Balakrishnan Nair, DYSP, Raghavan, senior film actor, Gopinath Muthukad, Executive Director, DAC and Directors Mohanan, Adv. Hariraj M.R, Jayadali, Prahlad Acharya, Mahesh Guptan, Jagadeeshan and Thomas.

Inspired by the Different Art Centre model in Thiruvananthapuram, the IIPD project in Kasaragod is being developed on a 20-acre land in Madikai, Kanhangad. The institute will feature world-class facilities, including advanced arts and sports training centers, ultramodern therapy services, personalized assistive device units, vocational training centers, medical facilities and training institutes. For the first time in India, such an extensive initiative integrating multiple disciplines is being implemented.
