The foundation stone for the International Institute for People with Disabilities (IIPD) was laid on February 23, 2025, by Hon’ble Chief Minister of Kerala, Shri. Pinarayi Vijayan, with Smt. K S Chitra as the Chief Guest.
The ceremony was attended by esteemed guests including Hon’ble Parliamentarians Rajmohan Unnithan and P V Abdul Wahab, MLA Shri. M Rajagopal, District Panchayat President Baby Balakrishnan, and DAC Executive Director Shri. Gopinath Muthukad, along with members of the DAC Board of Directors.
The occasion also saw the inauguration of the IIPD website by Smt. K S Chitra, followed by a grand cultural show performed by individuals with special needs from DAC, showcasing their talents and abilities.
